Tour straw bale homes in process during the Green Homes Tour 10/20/19

Join us to tour 2 straw bale houses in the process of being built at
 Terra Corazon Farm in Valley Center as part of the SD-GBC’s Annual 
Green Homes Tour
. 

The straw bales are all installed in the main house and the guest house and the main house is in the process of being plastered. Come see for yourself how this high-performance, natural, and non-toxic system goes together.

Join us this Sunday, Oct 20, to tour two straw bale homes under construction in Valley Center as part of the SD-GBC’s annual Green Homes Tour. There will be adobe brick making in the morning and short talks throughout the day.

10:00 am • Houses open, self-guided tours, Q&A with the designer-builders, Rebecca Tasker & Mike Long of Simple Construct

10:00 am – 12:00 pm • See how an adobe brick is made or get your hands dirty making one yourself!

10:30 am – 10:45 am • Guided tour of the houses led by the designer-builders, Rebecca Tasker & Mike Long of Simple Construct

11:30 am – 11:45 am • Talk: “Intro to High-Performance Natural Building & the Straw Bale Homes on the Farm” by Rebecca Tasker of Simple Construct

1:00 pm – 1:15 pm • Talk: “Intro to Water Harvesting & Strategies for the Farm” by Brook Sarson of CatchingH2O and a Terra Corazon homeowner

2:00 pm – 2:15 pm • Talk: “Intro to Permaculture & the Regenerative Agriculture Future of the Farm” by Josh Robinson of Ecology Artisans & the San Diego Sustainable Living Institute; and a Terra Corazon homeowner

3:00 pm – 3:15 pm • Reading of “The Story of the 4th Little Pig, a children’s story for adults” by Rebecca Tasker of Simple Construct
