Have you been thinking about building a beautiful, organic seating area for your garden? A clay-plastered straw bale bench makes a unique centerpiece for a shady retreat. Come to this one-day workshop and learn to work with straw bales, adobe block and clay plaster while helping to build an actual straw bale bench. We will go over materials selection, various natural building techniques, and design considerations for building a long-lasting, durable, and beautiful bench. Taught by Rebecca Tasker & Mike Long of Simple Construct, San Diego-based builders who specialize in straw bale building. $20 per person, includes delicious vegetarian lunch.
